This is the newest model (W211AX) of Sony's Netbooks and has a extended battery life. While others may complain of the battery- I like the fact that it elevates the netbook up towards you. Depending on the surfing you do- you may have a bit less battery life than advertised. I ordered the pink Vaio and couldn't be more pleased. It was everything I expected it to be and then some. The Track pad is reasonably sized and much larger than most. The screen clarity is amazing. My only complaint is where the speakers are situated for the volume. I simply resolved this issue on my own and use my ipod head phones when listening to sound. To the lower right of screen you may also adjust zoom level. Your options are 100, 125, and 150. If you do increase the zoom level- You do loose a bit of viewing and must scroll from side to side. The keyboard buttons are a bit elevated and makes it easier for typing. The only other downfall that I could say would be that the netbook only comes with Windows 7 Starter. With this program starter version you are unable to change desktop background. Bummer... I love that I can install my SD card and download my photos too. Perfect for web surfing, downloading pics, typing, emails, etc.

I have had this little computer for about 6 months now and it was one of my best purchases ever. I love everything about it. It's big enough to be capable of everything I need it to be, and small enough I can bring it with me anywhere. It's very well built, rock solid, I have no concerns about taking it with me around the house or around town. I have been very happy with the battery life and the general speed/use of the netbook. I would recommend it to anyone!
I find it's a bit more purpley than it shows in the picture, but it kind of depends what light it's in - sometimes it looks very purple, sometimes very pink! I actually love that about it!
The one caution I would offer is the AC adapter - not on quality but as a caution not to be stupid like I was. I left my netbook plugged in at home all day while I was at the beach, and didn't notice that the box thing on the AC adapter was under a thick fuzzy sweater that I had tossed on my bedroom floor that morning. When I got home, I picked up the sweater and the AC adapter was very hot - I removed the sweater to improve ventilation but didn't unplug it. The next day the battery was low a lot sooner than usual, and when I went to charge it the AC adapter would no longer work. Gah! It's totally my fault for not ensuring it had proper ventilation (not to mention it could have started a fire had I not discovered it) so definitely not the fault of Lenovo - just thought I would add a note for others to be careful and make sure that little box has proper ventilation - don't leave it plugged in wrapped in a sweater while you go to the beach 
However I am very happy with the customer service as well - when I called to see if by minute chance I could have gotten a free replacement under warranty, I wasn't on hold AT ALL before I was talking to a person, and a person who spoke decent english at that. They would have replaced it actually but the warranty for the AC adapter is only 90 days so I was past that. Oh well, worth a try, it was my fault anyway A dedicated Lenovo replacement adapter is reasonable at with free shipping though which is great compared to AC adapters for many laptops. I paid one time for an adapter for my HP so I'm a happy camper!

I love this little computer. I use it for internet and using MS Office. It does all of that perfectly with XP Home. I have zero issues with speed and connectivity is great. I especially appreciate the battery life - I get (without any power saving features enabled) about 3 hours of real world use. I bought a cheap external USB DVD drive to ease loading software. I have no trouble networking it with two Win 7 computers on my home network.
The only thing I do on it that doesn't work perfectly is Skype. Often the video (from the built in camera) gets a bit choppy eventhough the internet connection is strong. I suspect I am running up against a hardware limitation.
My wife routinely uses this to connect to a projector and gives powerpoint presentations.
Very happy with this purchase and would easily recommend.

I've owned this netbook for more than half a year, and thus far am extremely satisfied with it.
I'm not much of a computer geek, so I won't try to get technical, but I'd like to note that while the 1201N performs some tasks very well and others at a snail-like rate, it fits in with my preferences and activities perfectly. I bought it for several purposes, and have not been disappointed in any of them:
1. To be lightweight enough to carry easily to school and work
2. Internet browsing
3. Word processing
4. Video-streaming (on Youtube, Netflix and Amazon's Video on Demand)
5. World of Warcraft
Although the computer is noticeably slower than my decently togged-out desktop at tasks such as virus scans or new software installation, this is not generally an issue as long as I confine my activities to the ones listed above. Internet surfing and word processing are of course not a problem, and videos play as seamlessly as they do on the desktop. I usually have several processes going at the same time, including Google Chrome (with video running) and multiple instances of Wordpad and/or OpenOffice Writer, with no appreciable dent in performance.
For fellow WoW gamers: World of Warcraft runs surprisingly well. I had expected to perhaps be able to check mail and auctions on this machine while unable to access my desktop, but I've had no problems solo-questing, either. Dalaran kills my frame rate during peak hours, but that holds true for many laptops and older desktops as well. I haven't tried raiding yet -- I'm used to playing with a ton of add-ons on the desktop but am using only the default UI on the netbook -- but I think 10-mans should be doable; 25-mans, doubtful. I use minimum settings, of course, with 1024x768 resolution in windowed mode (so I can easily tab in and out), and the game runs fine.
I don't know why the computer is so sluggish with tasks like software installation but brisk when it comes to gaming and videos, but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth. *g*
The one big problem with the 1201N is, as numerous people have mentioned, the short battery life. It'll last for 4~5 hours if you don't over-exert it, but you can't push it much further than that. Since my classes last for 3 hours and I have opportunities to recharge before and after, that isn't an issue for me, but this probably isn't the computer you want to bring with you on long flights.

My wife and I were going away and we decided our regular, full size laptop was going to be too cumbersome to bring with us. We picked up the Acer Aspire One D250 after testing several netbooks. This was purchased last October, and almost a year later, the unit has performed well. The unit we purchased still had Windows XP installed new, which was a blessing. At the time, Vista was a disaster and I was glad that Microsoft made an exception for ultra low cost PCs to still come pre-installed with XP. We purchased it from a major retailer that had it bundled with the DVD drive/mouse/case and an SD card for under 0, which made it a slam dunk to buy.
It came pre-loaded with a lot of software running, including Norton Internet Security. Out of the box, too much pre-loaded software caused the unit to run terribly slow on 1GB of memory. After removing much of it, the unit runs Office and surfs the web with ease! It can handle mostly all websites with ease, but some software will bog it down. I use it for mostly playing simple games, surfing, and Office, and with that I am very satisfied, because that's what I bought it for. If your looking to edit photos and video, you will be sorely dissapointed
The on board speakers are sub par, and the sound card is also not good. If you plan to listen to a lot of music, stay away from this netbook. I watch YouTube clips sometimes which didn't affect me as much, but the actual music output is very sub par. The on board sound did cause my review to lose a star.
The USB ports are well placed, as is the Ethernet port and the multi-card reader. The unit is great at copying and storing data. The 160GB hard drive is perfect for holding/displaying documents, some music, and lower-resolution photos. Video playback is iffy on this unit, and HD resolution playback was very choppy, as can be expected with this processor.
Battery life has been impressive. I have used the unit 4-5 hours at a time without any major complaint. The bottom of the unit gets downright hot after awhile, even if it is idle.
Overall, I will buy another Acer if I want to get another netbook. Even though the iPad will be tempting, for the price, Acer has proved why they are a major player in netbooks.

A great cable at a great price point. I needed another HDMI cable, so I picked this one up since it promised everything I needed from an HDMI cable, and it delivered for an amazingly cheap price. I've used this cable in both connecting a Dell XPS 16 to an Asus VE246 24", as well as a PS3 to an Asus VH242H 24" at home, and it offers perfect picture and sound quality (with digital, it either works or it doesn't, and both the audio/video signals carried over HDMI are digital).
Plenty of other posts have pointed out the various scams and misleading marketing techniques, so I won't go into all that. Besides, if you're looking at this product or its reviews, you probably already know all that and already have a leg up on all the other Best Buy sheeple, hehe.
